If you feel a REALTOR® has done something unethical, before filing a complaint, contact the broker you have a complaint against. It may be possible to resolve your issue without going through the Professional Standards process, and if not, you only stand to gain more information related to your issue. You may view/download the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice to cite the article(s) you feel may have been violated.
Once you have identified the article(s), you must fill out an Ethics Complaint Form (E-1) and cite the article(s) you feel has/have been violated. Send your form, along with a cover letter and any other valuable documentation you may possess to the appropriate Board of REALTORS® for processing. To review the process, click here to view the document "Before You File An Ethics Complaint," which explains the process from beginning to end.
Send your form, along with a cover letter and any other valuable documentation you may possess to the president of the appropriate Local Board of REALTORS® for processing. Click here to view a Kansas REALTOR® Local Board Jurisdiction map to help identify your local board of REALTORS®. Click here to view contact information for all Local Boards of REALTORS®. If you are located in an at-large county, send your complaint to the Kansas Association of REALTORS® to start the process.
Once you've filed a complaint, a Professional Standards Administrator will handle the administrative side of your case from beginning to end. He or she will provide you with the appropriate forms along the way.
If you have any questions, or need assistance in this process, please call Luke Bell at 800-366-0069, X2133, or email email@example.com.
