KAR Legislative & Education Conference

Held in Topeka, Kansas in January of each year, the highlight of these meetings is the KAR Legislative Reception. KAR hosts a reception for all Kansas Legislators - a time for members to meet and greet their representatives and discuss issues of relevance to Kansas REALTORS®.  Attendees to this conference will also have access to education events, including CE!

The 2012 Legislative & Education Conference will be held January 10-12, 2012 at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel.  Program highlights are:

REALTOR® Leadership 200 Program - (Downloadable flier)

Do you aspire to a leadership position with your local association or the state association? Perhaps you’re already on a leadership path. This leadership program is designed to help local and state volunteer leaders increase their institutional knowledge and strengthen leadership skills through interactive courses such as this. Legislative Lunch

KAR’s Vice President of Governmental Affairs Luke Bell will take you through the issues that will affect REALTORS® at the Kansas Legislature this year. Take a break to join with other REALTORS® to discuss what’s going on in the state. On-site tickets will be limited.

The KAR 2012 Housing Summit

1:15-5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11—OPEN TO ALL REALTORS®
This informational Housing Summit includes experts in the areas of economics, real estate, lending and public policy. They will address such topics as the current economic conditions affecting the housing and commercial markets; current status of the mortgage and commercial lending industry and the impact of regulations and current public policy issues affecting residential and commercial real estate. Legislative Reception

8-9:30 p.m., (immediately following the Governor's State of the State adress) Wednesday, Jan. 11—OPEN TO ALL REALTORS®
Network with fellow REALTORS® and members of the Kansas Legislature during the annual Legislative Reception. Let the Legislators know your opinions and views about the upcoming session. The reception will feature heavy appetizers and refreshments. Please plan to attend!

Networking Lunch

12:15-1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12

Pick up a sandwich and relax, then attend your Zone meeting! The Zones will discuss the business on the Board of Directors’ agenda in the afternoon. It’s a great time to build your referral network and talk with friends.
